The Time Management Reset Every Health Leader Needs
If you’re a health professional or wellness business owner, your time is probably THE most valuable asset you have.
You’re juggling clients / patients, content creation, team communication, product development, continuing education, and still trying to take care of your own health.
It’s a lot. And without a system, your day starts running you instead of the other way around.
I want to share two simple tools I’ve used for years. You may already know them, but when you combine them, the shift is dramatic.
Let’s talk about the Eisenhower Method PLUS the Pomodoro Technique.
They’re simple. They’re fast. And together, they’ll change how you run your to-do list.
Method 1: The Eisenhower Method
This method is all about clarity and decisiveness.
Dwight Eisenhower famously said that what is important is seldom urgent, and what is urgent is seldom important.
If you’re a health practitioner or entrepreneur, you already know how easy it is to spend a whole day putting out fires and never get to the work that actually grows your business or serves your patients at the highest level.
Here’s the breakdown…
Everything you need to do falls into one of 4 boxes:
- Important & urgent: Handle these things first. These are tasks that must happen today.
- Important but not urgent: These are your needle-movers. Strategic planning. Program creation. Brand building. Content with long-term payoff. Schedule these.
- Urgent but not important: Delegate. These tasks matter, but don’t require your expertise.
- Not important and not urgent: Delete. If it doesn’t get you closer to your goals or support your clients, it doesn’t belong on your list.
This method pulls you out of firefighting mode and into leadership mode. For health business owners who constantly toggle between clinical work and entrepreneurship, it is essential.
BUT NOW let’s COMBINE this with METHOD 2…
Method 2: The Pomodoro Technique
Once you know what matters, you need a way to stay focused long enough to complete it.
Here’s the pattern:
- Set a timer for 25 minutes.
- Do one task. Only one.
- Take a 5-minute break.
- After 4 cycles, then take a longer, 15–20 minute break.
Health practitioners love this because it reduces mental fatigue and cuts through distraction.
You’ll be amazed at what you can get done in 25 focused minutes.
This method is especially powerful for content creation, charting, writing emails, planning webinars, or working on your vision for the year ahead.
How These Two Methods Are Transformational Together
The Eisenhower Method tells you what to focus on. And the Pomodoro Method helps you actually finish it.
One creates clarity.
The other creates momentum.
Together, they make you feel calm, strategic, and in charge.
Use them together like this:
- Sort your tasks into the four Eisenhower categories.
- Choose your highest-impact project (not the loudest task, but the most meaningful).
- Use Pomodoro cycles to work through it with total focus.
For health pros and business owners, this pairing keeps you from slipping into nonstop urgency and pulls you back into intentional creation.
SIDEBAR: How to Use This Every Week
- At the start of every week, do a quick Eisenhower sorting session.
- It takes 10 minutes. Look at everything on your plate, from content deliverables to live events to product launches, and categorize them.
- Then, choose the one project that matters most for moving the mission forward.
- Once you know that, protect it fiercely. (This is where Pomodoro comes in.)
- Block 4 Pomodoro cycles for focused work.
-
- No notifications
- No multitasking.
- Just one task, start to finish.
-
This keeps you out of overwhelm and in the driver’s seat.
It works whether you’re planning a keynote, reviewing a supplement formula, writing a script, etc., etc..
If you adopt this rhythm, your entire week will feel different.
And don’t forget to reserve time on your calendar every week to do this!

P.S. When your brand identity is crystal clear, time management becomes even easier because you always know what aligns with your mission and what doesn’t. It eliminates half of the decision fatigue instantly.
That is why we’re hosting another LIVE 1-Day Build Your Brand Blueprint Intensive on January 17th. If you want clarity, consistency, and the confidence to tell your story in a way that magnetizes the right people, I’d love to have you there.
